Museums, galleries and cultural attractions have already acknowledged that they need their own compelling, customised iPhone and Android apps. These reach out to new audiences, while enhancing existing physical collections and enriching the visitor experience.

We worked with The Wellcome Trust and historian Richard Barnett to produce their first iPhone application, a free, interactive, multimedia walking tour of Bloomsbury’s medical history. Blood, Guts, Brains and Babies is available on the iPhone and iPod Touch and is being promoted alongside Wellcome’s Medical London events.

Ken Arnold, head of public programmes at Wellcome Collection, says: “By weaving treasures from the Wellcome Collection into the app, we have created a fully immersive experience for all to explore the curiosities of London’s medical heritage at their own pace.”
The app can be downloaded free from citystorieswalks.com.
